I am an Assistant Professor of Construction Management in the College of Architecture and Environmental Design at Kent State University.

My research focuses on advancing the reliability, sustainability, and resilience of construction and infrastructure systems through AI, digital twins, and open science. I am especially interested in building knowledge cyberinfrastructure and human-centered AI methods that support safer, smarter, and more trustworthy AEC practice.

Current directions include:

  1. Automating digital twins of construction and infrastructure operations with multi-modal sensing, vision, and data processing technologies.
  2. Scaling AI for the built environment by combining machine learning systems, human expertise, and reusable digital assets.
  3. Promoting reliable, equitable, and resilient operations under uncertainty through data-driven and human-centered decision support.

One of the central threads of this work is building open knowledge infrastructure for the AEC community. Through OpenConstruction and related open-source educational efforts, collaborators across institutions are working to make datasets, benchmarks, workflows, and teaching materials more reusable, transparent, and accessible.

OpenConstruction supports open datasets, benchmarks, and community-centered AI resources for the built environment.
